Meet the Team: Tierra Henry

Tierra Henry with SlipBot at customer site

When Tierra Henry joined Slip Robotics as a field technician just over a year ago, she brought her knack for problem-solving and a fresh perspective to the team. Since day one, she’s been all about diving into the details, learning the ins and outs of robotics, and keeping things running smoothly for customers. Whether she’s troubleshooting a bot, training operators, or managing multiple sites with precision, Tierra approaches every challenge with a mix of curiosity and determination—and maybe just a dash of humor.

On any given day, Tierra can be found tackling reported issues with precision and flair. She doesn’t just fix problems—she tracks them like a detective on a mission. Her thorough daily inspections keep every bot and its charging stations in peak condition. And when a bot throws a tantrum (metaphorically speaking), Tierra is there to coax it back to life.

Tierra’s work goes beyond just fixing things; she’s a frontline troubleshooter and educator. She regularly trains operators on how to optimize their bot usage. Tierra is all about empowering customers.

What Tierra loves most about working at Slip is troubleshooting alongside her teammates. She’s been soaking up knowledge like a sponge, learning from the unique problem-solving styles of the field engineers. She’s particularly fond of teaming up with Christian, whose knack for simple solutions often feels like unlocking cheat codes for bots.

Tierra’s ambitions don’t stop at being a top-notch technician. Her sights are set on becoming a field engineer, and with her determination and Slip’s support, the sky’s the limit. “There’s no cap on what we can achieve here,” she says, crediting the company’s willingness to invest in her growth.

Outside of work, Tierra’s life is just as energetic and full of discovery. She’s an avid cyclist who enjoys exploring the outdoors with her dog, Leila. Farmers' markets are her weekend retreat, and when she’s not on her bike or at the park, you’ll likely find her nose-deep in a Nora Roberts novel. Recently, Tierra’s curiosity expanded to the night sky—she’s ordered a telescope and is excited about observing the stars and planets with a clear view.

Before finding her way into robotics, Tierra was a student-athlete at Huntingdon College and Faulkner State, where she earned her BA in criminal justice. After graduation, she interned with the Foley Police Department in Gulf Shores, Alabama, spending six months assisting with paperwork. Though she valued the experience, it led her to pursue a more hands-on career, starting in automotive manufacturing before transitioning to robotics.

As Tierra gears up to take over a new customer site in Iowa, her enthusiasm for learning and growing continues to shine. Whether she’s fine-tuning bots or discovering the best peaches at the farmers’ market, Tierra brings her unique blend of technical skill, curiosity, and humor to everything she does. If SlipBots had personalities, they’d probably all want Tierra on speed dial.
